Gift of a Wedding is seeking an inspiring and committed Chairperson to lead our Board of Trustees and help guide our charity through its next chapter.

We are a UK-registered charity that gifts weddings to people living with a terminal or life-limiting illness. Our mission is to help people deal with grief by creating positive, lasting memories that bring comfort and strength to couples and the people who love them.

Our vision is that every eligible person should have the opportunity to marry the person they love, regardless of their financial circumstances.

As Chairperson, you will:

• Provide strategic leadership to the Board of Trustees
• Promote strong governance and effective decision-making
• Ensure the charity acts in the best interests of the couples and families we serve
• Work collaboratively with trustees, staff and volunteers
• Support effective financial stewardship and safeguard our reputation
• Champion our values of Compassion, Integrity, Respect, Collaboration and Excellence
• Act as an ambassador for Gift of a Wedding

We are looking for a collaborative and compassionate leader with strategic vision, integrity and sound independent judgement. Experience of leadership, governance or working at board level would be valuable. Previous experience as a charity Chairperson is desirable but not essential.

📍 Location: North West — meetings will be held in person
⏰ Commitment: Approximately four hours per week, including four Board meetings each year
💚 Position: Voluntary, with reasonable expenses paid
